Fix My Hernia in Melbourne was created by Mr Elan Kaplan. Mr Elan Kaplan is a specialist general surgeon who trained in Melbourne at Melbourne University and the Alfred Hospital, specialising in all forms of abdominal and general surgery. Following his fellowship in general surgery, Elan Kaplan undertook a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and upper gastrointestinal surgery under the mentorship of some Melbourne’s finest surgeons. He subsequently worked as a staff general surgeon at a major metropolitan teaching hospital. During this time he taught a number of medical students and surgeons in training. Mr Kaplan frequently provides advice and assists other consultant surgeons with difficult cases. Elan Kaplan’s extensive training provided him with the necessary experience to provide you with excellent results. Elan Kaplan attended the The 1st World Conference on Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery and The 1st Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Europe Congress. He has frequently attended the American Hernia Society International Congress
Mr Elan Kaplan identified the need in our community for a specialist general surgery practice that provides a collaborative approach. He now performs and is involved in excess of 450 hernia repairs per year. He frequently teaches Master classes and has presented at international meetings. He has provided multiple education talks to other surgeons around Australia. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Hernia Society.. He has recently published multiple papers on hernia repair including hernia repair with abdominoplasty.
